Oana – Beatrice
Popescu
Oana-Beatrice is a conceptual visual artist and artistic researcher whose work explores how meaning takes shape—through art, perception, and lived experience. She approaches her practice as a way of being in the world, where intuitive insight and embodied knowledge guide both creation and inquiry.
Her work is driven by a long-standing interest in the deeper currents that shape reality: consciousness, perception, and the subtle structures that sit beneath everyday experience. Treating creativity as both a spiritual and analytic process, she investigates intuition and sensitivity as forms of attention—ways of noticing what usually goes unspoken.
Drawing on ethnographic reflection and phenomenological thinking, her projects move between art, academia, and design. She works conceptually, using image-making, writing, and research to trace the hidden architectures of meaning and the mysteries that resist easy explanation. Her practice is ultimately motivated by a desire to honour the complexity of human experience and the enigmas that give life its depth.
She approaches creation as an existential and metaphysical inquiry, using her work to explore where meaning arises and how it moves through us.

Following her interest in the humanities, she completed a research programme at Erasmus University Rotterdam. There, she examined the systems that shape contemporary creative industries, understanding art not only as an expression of humanity but as a vessel of power within shifting cultural histories. With a systemic approach to academic research, she explored questions of artistic integrity in a rapidly precarious and politicised environment. Her work delved into the multidimensional meaning of art and its value for creative practitioners, tracing how people make sense of—and sustain—art-making practices today.
Ultimately, Oana-Beatrice aims to reveal the subtle ways meaning is sensed, shaped, and lived—and to create work that opens space for deeper presence and understanding.
